The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS&IT) in collaboration with National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies (NICAT) successfully organized the Startup & Entrepreneurship Conference 2023. The conference which was held at multipurpose hall of the University attracted market leaders and witnessed landmark collaborations for promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rahmat Ali Khan in his address, expressed gratitude for the presence of market leaders and recognized their valuable contributions in job market and promotion of sustainable development. Highlighting the rapid growth in the field of computing he emphasized the need to keep pace with advancements. The Vice Chancellor also extended congratulations to the Dean, Faculty of Computing & Engineering and program coordinator Mr. Ammar Habib for their outstanding efforts in forging this robust public private partnership.
The conference featured distinguished market leaders, including Mr. Asghar Qureshi, CEO and Founder of Qureshi Group, Mr. Ayub Ghauri, Executive Director of NetSol Technologies, Mr. Imran Jattala, Project Director of NICAT, Mr. Muhammad Ismail, CEO of Property Naama, Mr. Abdul Salam, CEO and Founder of 9D Technologies, Mr. Moneeb Shakil, Founding Member of TruckIT.IN, Mr. Ahmed Osama Tahir, CEO of Alliance Solutions and Mr. Rehan Aslam, Director, Collaborations and Partnerships at 9D Group. They spoke on significance of startups & entrepreneurship, shared their business models and discussed their business journeys from beginning to success. They motivated students to assume the role of starting their own businesses instead of looking for jobs and emphasized how entrepreneurship plays a vital role in shaping the future of our country.
Earlier, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Nabi Dean, Faculty of Computing and Engineering expressed his heartfelt appreciation and welcomed the guests who had traveled long distances to join the university. He underscored the significance of connecting theory and practice, highlighting that theory alone is inadequate, while practice without theory is nothing.
At end, several MOUs were signed with companies including Property Naama, NICAT, 9D Technologies, NetSol, Alliance Solutions, and TruckIT.IN. These MoUs will provide internship and employment opportunities for students and will promote research and collaboration between university and companies.
